I have worked in the field of therapy for 15 years. Early in my career, I worked at a youth residential treatment centre for substance use and mental health. Witnessing the impact that family had on clients and their treatment outcomes, for better and worse, fascinated me. However, it was troubling to discover how limited resources were for family support. I returned to post-graduate school and specialized in couple and family therapy.
I have had the honour of walking alongside people and relationships that have encountered a wide-range of issues, from infidelity and trauma to parenting and communication styles. I continue to be amazed by the resiliency of the human spirit, as well as the critical role of connection in people’s lives.
My passion is mental and emotional health and well-being and I have witnessed firsthand how our relationships can inform both. I rely on current research and evidence-based approaches to support clients. While the therapeutic process is not always an easy one, I can attest to its value on both a professional and personal level.
